Vera Wang opens in Sydney

Exciting news this week with Vera Wang opening a long awaited store in Sydney! The boutique is located in the InterContinental Hotel on Macquarie Street in Sydney, and no doubt will have bride-to-be’s flocking from across the country to make an appointment.

You might remember my post earlier this year featuring Vera Wang’s new collection, with a heavy emphasis on the big and bold colour red the theme of the collection, inspired by the Paris Opera. The Spring/Summer ’12 bridal collection is in-store now and was previewed for the star studded launch.

Brides will also be treated to a twice-yearly Vera Wang trunk show, to be held in-store every May and November. As well the designers well known gowns, the boutique includes shoes, accessories, fragrance and highlights from Wedgewood homewares line.

This beautiful black gown is among many to be featured in the flagship store which are part of the designers Autumn-Winter collection, modeled by Ines English.

Designer Spotlight: Vera Wang Bridal Collection 2013

Vera Wang is synonomous with a fairy tale wedding. This season is no exception. Vera Wang has just released her new bridal collection for 2013, showcasing rich red gowns with a range of textures, fabrics and volumes. Each gown emphasises various elements of the body, and another part is accentuated with excessive layers of mesh and tulle. The collection is said to be inspired by the traditional Chinese wedding colour palette and the celebration of love.

Increasingly brides are opting for something less traditional, but it’s a bold move. Vera Wang produces all her gowns in a more classic ivory or white, but doing the runway show in the hues of crimson and reds has certainly proved effective.
