I came across this wedding after finding this photo on Pinterest and falling in love with the pink and white striped bridesmaid outfits! I loved that they weren’t actually dresses but done beautifully with the golden neutral tshirt style to complete the outfit and match the bride.
After trying to find the photographer of this image to see more photos of the gorgeous bridesmaid dresses, I came across their story. Emi & Chase have a dedicated site that tells the stories of their lives together, including their beautiful wedding photos! But I’m here to focus on the bridesmaid dresses, because I was instantly drawn to how different these ensembles were and loved the touch of pink! Highly recommend checking out their bridal photography shoot as well, truly divine!
Vera Wang is synonomous with a fairy tale wedding. This season is no exception. Vera Wang has just released her new bridal collection for 2013, showcasing rich red gowns with a range of textures, fabrics and volumes. Each gown emphasises various elements of the body, and another part is accentuated with excessive layers of mesh and tulle. The collection is said to be inspired by the traditional Chinese wedding colour palette and the celebration of love.
Increasingly brides are opting for something less traditional, but it’s a bold move. Vera Wang produces all her gowns in a more classic ivory or white, but doing the runway show in the hues of crimson and reds has certainly proved effective.
I can’t wait to share some of the beautiful memories from Chanel & Thomas’ big day over the weekend in Adelaide…but for now, here’s the stunningly happy couple being congratulated by friends and family until I get around to posting about it. How amazing is Chanel’s Monique Lhuillier dress, wait til you see the whole thing! It was the most exquisite, beautiful and fun day, I feel so privileged to have been a part of it. Xx
I love being inspired by such beautiful designers; and Jim Hjelm is no exception. Designed by Francesca Pitera, Jim Hjelm features gowns that satisfy the most discerning bride. The designer is best known for unique detailing and combining luxurious fabrics with delicate embroidery. Taken from JLM Couture website, ‘Francesca feels these details are important because they “add unique and special touch to the gowns.” The Jim Hjelm collection is diverse; ranging from gowns made of vintage-inspired fabrics to modern silhouettes, all with gorgeous details that make the gowns a joy to wear.’ Featuring some stunning pieces this season, take a look at the latest from this beautiful collection.

This years L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival brought some beautiful outfits to the runway. Among them some stunning gowns with Toni Maticevski and Gwendolynne dubbed my favourites for this wedding season.
I just came across this dress scouring Pinterest. Can you say obsessed?
It was posted to Pinterest via Lost in Vogue but there wasn’t any info about where the dress originated. I absolutely adore it. While I’m still unsure about the style of wedding I’ll have in the future, I have definitely entertained the thought of a shorter style dress. This feels perfect for a cocktail style wedding, classy and stylish!
There’s some more short designer dresses on my Facebook page.
New to the world of wedding dresses, the abundance of beauty and detail astounds me. In the recent Bride To Be magazine, the dress that really caught my eye was by Pallas Couture. Pallas gowns offer impeccable attention to detail and unique couture finishes. Many of our fabrics are created for Pallas in Paris, with their laces designed exclusively by mother/daughter designers, Joy and Philippa. The current collection emphasizes texture and soft, three-dimensional detailing.
Ange is technically my sister-in-law, being the sister of my brother’s wife Sonya. She’s always been like family, from the moment we met. Ange and I have gone through pretty similar life stages together, and our beau’s have uncanny similarities at times! To be invited to celebrate Rick & Ange’s special day with them was such an honour, and such fun!
Who doesn’t love a good wedding gown shot! A variety of pre-wedding shots with the bride inevitably require a few angles of the dress itself. As a way to show off the gown on the big day, photographers tend to hang the dress in a high place to accentuate the train, neckline, fabric and colour. My favourites are those that hang the dress from a tree, or include some shubbery, it looks like such a beautiful contrast and brings out the detail in the dress.
