Black tie mismatched bridesmaids

I hadn’t thought to do another post on mismatched bridesmaid dresses, as you all know by now how much of a fan I am of them! But a friend in LA sent me this a few days ago, which was featured on her local tanning specialist, Sunkissed by Jenni website.

These ladies look absolutely stunning, and I think are such a true representation of a perfectly ‘mismatched’ bridesmaids for a black tie wedding. They are suitably formal, while still looking like they are part of the same bridal party.

Short and sweet, and sorry for blabbing on so much about mismatched bridal dresses. I am clearly keen to do this in my own wedding!

What do you think of these ladies and their dust rose ensemble?

Country style mismatched bridesmaid dresses

I stumbled upon Shannen Norman‘s website via Style Me Pretty‘s wedding feature of Jenny & Chad. These mismatched bridesmaid dresses are definitely among my favourite that I’ve seen.

The vintage style of these ladies coupled with a range of cool to summer colours really steals the show. Love it! What do you think?

Highly recommend checking out Shannen Norman‘s photography, the photographs she captures are truly stunning! I’m going to feature her this week on Inspire Me Wednesday so stay tuned!

What a pretty wedding party

As far as a bridal party goes, these guys surely take the cake. Stunning dress, gorgeous mismatched bridesmaid dresses and handsome fellas! I really adore the style of the bride’s dress, classic and timeless.

Inspire Me Wednesday: Sorrento Weddings

There’s a few reasons I’m featuring Sorrento Weddings on this Inspire Me Wednesday post. Okay, so it’s technically Thursday, but I’m sure it’s still Wednesday somewhere in the world. As the beautiful Elissa of Magpie Miller tells me, Australia is in the future!

Sorrento Weddings

I’ve been wanting to feature Sorrento Weddings for a while. Not only did they shoot my best friend’s wedding last March (wow, that year went quickly Meg!) but they recently photographed a friend’s wedding in Portsea and I discovered the photos of their special day on their blog tonight. It inspired me to have a look at some of their other work, and I found a shoot from late last year featuring my hometown. What drew me into these photographs were how candid and natural they were. Scrolling through the photos, you easily felt like you could have been part of the day. I also couldn’t help but notice the beautifully mismatched bridesmaid dresses that Alex chose for her girls. It was an all round gorgeous wedding, and Sorrento Weddings did such a beautiful job in capturing it.

Loving mismatched bridesmaid dresses

The more I see photos of bridal parties with mismatched dresses, the more I love it!

This one from Christian Oth Studio NY is a perfect example of picking a colour scheme, and having your bridesmaids in completely different dresses, and having it work! They all look part of the same bridal party, but each with their own sense of style and wear the type of dress that is suited to the individual. Plus, I absolutely love that they have different brightly coloured shoes on!

Mismatched bridesmaid dresses anyone?

I’ve never really considered having bridesmaid dresses that were mismatched, but seeing a few wonderful combinations of late, I’m beginning to change my mind!

This gorgeous combination photographed by Jill Thomas Photography works beautifully with the flowers and complements the girls individual style. Originally featured in Style Unveiled.

This is the other one that has really caught my eye. Neutrals has always been a bit out for me, being fair skinned and blonde. That’s not to say my bridesmaids couldn’t wear it though! These neutrals really stand out for me, and the fact they are mismatched seem to work even better. I found this via Belle the Magazine. Does anyone know who shot this wedding or the original source? I know I have seen this wedding party before and can’t place where, please comment if you know!

I haven’t been to a wedding yet where there has been a mismatched colour scheme for the bridesmaids, but I still have 7 to go this year so here’s hoping!
