Exciting news this week with Vera Wang opening a long awaited store in Sydney! The boutique is located in the InterContinental Hotel on Macquarie Street in Sydney, and no doubt will have bride-to-be’s flocking from across the country to make an appointment.
You might remember my post earlier this year featuring Vera Wang’s new collection, with a heavy emphasis on the big and bold colour red the theme of the collection, inspired by the Paris Opera. The Spring/Summer ’12 bridal collection is in-store now and was previewed for the star studded launch.
Brides will also be treated to a twice-yearly Vera Wang trunk show, to be held in-store every May and November. As well the designers well known gowns, the boutique includes shoes, accessories, fragrance and highlights from Wedgewood homewares line.
This beautiful black gown is among many to be featured in the flagship store which are part of the designers Autumn-Winter collection, modeled by Ines English.
The store is aimed at gaining a share of the bullish Australian wedding industry, which is worth $4.3 billion each year according to the business information company IBISWorld. [Credit: Herald Sun]
I hadn’t thought to do another post on mismatched bridesmaid dresses, as you all know by now how much of a fan I am of them! But a friend in LA sent me this a few days ago, which was featured on her local tanning specialist, Sunkissed by Jenni website.
These ladies look absolutely stunning, and I think are such a true representation of a perfectly ‘mismatched’ bridesmaids for a black tie wedding. They are suitably formal, while still looking like they are part of the same bridal party.
Short and sweet, and sorry for blabbing on so much about mismatched bridal dresses. I am clearly keen to do this in my own wedding!
What do you think of these ladies and their dust rose ensemble?
The vintage style of these ladies coupled with a range of cool to summer colours really steals the show. Love it! What do you think?
Highly recommend checking out Shannen Norman‘s photography, the photographs she captures are truly stunning! I’m going to feature her this week on Inspire Me Wednesday so stay tuned!
Vera Wang is synonomous with a fairy tale wedding. This season is no exception. Vera Wang has just released her new bridal collection for 2013, showcasing rich red gowns with a range of textures, fabrics and volumes. Each gown emphasises various elements of the body, and another part is accentuated with excessive layers of mesh and tulle. The collection is said to be inspired by the traditional Chinese wedding colour palette and the celebration of love.
Increasingly brides are opting for something less traditional, but it’s a bold move. Vera Wang produces all her gowns in a more classic ivory or white, but doing the runway show in the hues of crimson and reds has certainly proved effective.
This years L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival brought some beautiful outfits to the runway. Among them some stunning gowns with Toni Maticevski and Gwendolynne dubbed my favourites for this wedding season.
I just came across this dress scouring Pinterest. Can you say obsessed?
It was posted to Pinterest via Lost in Vogue but there wasn’t any info about where the dress originated. I absolutely adore it. While I’m still unsure about the style of wedding I’ll have in the future, I have definitely entertained the thought of a shorter style dress. This feels perfect for a cocktail style wedding, classy and stylish!
There’s some more short designer dresses on my Facebook page.
No doubt if you’re anything like me, you’re always stressing about what to wear to the latest wedding. And of course you can’t wear the same dress that you wore to the last wedding, people might see the photos on Facebook! (sarcasm, but true in my case!). Being a guest is an honour, and you don’t want to take away from the bride or her big day. So, in my opinion, that rules out anything in the range of white to cream as a solid colour dress. Leave that to the bride.
So what’s hot this summer?
Summer’s already here, so whats your hot tip for summer wedding attire? No doubt there are some stunning beach weddings planned, and outdoor ceremonies to be had.
