Anna Campbell Armadale Boutique Launch

It was quite an honour to be invited to share in the special event that was Anna Campbell‘s opening of her second bridal boutique in Melbourne’s highly coveted High Street, Armadale. The bright, young designer has certainly added her touch to this beautiful store.

The Boutique

The boutique felt so warm and welcoming, and upon meeting with Anna and speaking with her, you understand why. She brings so much of herself to this boutique, with every detail so carefully handpicked and considered. The chandeliers add such ambiance to the room, really highlighting the stunning high ceilings and romantic feel of the room. The special personal touches of Anna’s sketches adorn the walls, with beautiful handmade mood boards with magazine cutouts, lace and beading.

The Victorian style is carried through to the back of the boutique with large free standing mirrors, large spacious changing rooms and Victorian style chairs. Read the rest of this entry

Bridal Birdcage Veil

My good friend Ebony wore the most stunning birdcage veil at her wedding a few years ago, and I absolutely adored hers. She looked so classic and beautiful, and really complemented her dress. I just had to share some photos of her on her big day!

I think there are more and more brides that opt for the birdcage veil, or bridal hairpieces instead of the full veil. I think they really allow you to have a bit more uniqueness to your look. What do you think about fascinator veils?

Statement Necklaces

I’m a big fan of statement jewellery, and when I saw this photo posted on Style Me Pretty last week, I was surprised that I hadn’t considered a statement necklace to complement a bridal gown. This trend is picking up speed, and I am excited to see the interest level from brides growing. If you’re a fan of this trend, there’s a few things to think about.

  • Statement necklaces work best on dresses with open necklines – strapless, sweethearts, or off-the-shoulders.
  • If your dress has a lot going on already, it might be better to stick to the elegant, subtle accessories.
  • For a shorter neck, you may want to consider complementing with longer necklaces which make you appear to have a elongated neck.

The other consideration for using statement necklaces, might be to stylishly update your look for the reception. This stunning bride below changed up the look entirely from ceremony to reception, by adding the black belt to her Vera Wang, and highlighting the look with a big, bold statement necklace. Chanel & Thomas: 14 April 2012

Gorgeous location, golden weather, a stunning bride and insanely happy couple.

What a perfect setting for a wedding, in Adelaide at St. Peter’s College Chapel. The school chapel of Thom’s, complete with benches placed horizontally and sideways to the alter so that we could all see the beautiful Chanel walk down the aisle to her groom. The stain glass detail in the chapel was truly beautiful, as well as picture perfect courtyards for photographs.

To go back in time, I met Chanel and Thomas at university on the Gold Coast, with Chanel and I becoming instant friends, and close ever since. We may live in different states, but we catch up a few times a year and always on emails, texts, phone calls, and of course Facebook. The now happy couple were inseparable even as friends at university, so it comes as no surprise to see how incredibly happy they make each other in love.

This photo is pre-relationship days…you can’t tell the difference right?! đŸ˜‰

I still distinctly remember the day that Chanel called me, and was all excited saying “I kissed Thom last night”! And two years later, an excited text while on holidays in Thailand after Thom proposed to her. Couldn’t be happier for these two, they are such a picture perfect couple that have built such a wonderful life for themselves and their beautiful puppies.

What a pretty wedding party

As far as a bridal party goes, these guys surely take the cake. Stunning dress, gorgeous mismatched bridesmaid dresses and handsome fellas! I really adore the style of the bride’s dress, classic and timeless.

Sneak Peek: Chanel & Thomas

I can’t wait to share some of the beautiful memories from Chanel & Thomas’ big day over the weekend in Adelaide…but for now, here’s the stunningly happy couple being congratulated by friends and family until I get around to posting about it. How amazing is Chanel’s Monique Lhuillier dress, wait til you see the whole thing! It was the most exquisite, beautiful and fun day, I feel so privileged to have been a part of it. Xx

Sam & Jess: 29 February 2012

Sam and Jess Chester

Sam and I went to Bond University together, and he’s always been such a fun and genuine friend. While I don’t see Sam all the time in Melbourne, it’s always such fun to see him and catch up. Seeing the video that his videographer (C2 Video) put together of his big day just took my breath away – it looked like the most perfect and magical day. His bride, Jess, is truly one of the most classical and stunning brides I’ve ever seen. And never without a gorgeous, infectious smile! The moments that C2 have captured of Jess getting ready with her family and bridesmaids are perfectly lit and she seems so relaxed and happy. I particularly love the iconic Melbourne shots that were incorporated following the ceremony with Jess and Sam in the middle of the tram tracks, and within the gardens across from the National Gallery.

This video really captures every moment a wedding video should, and from the music, to the slow motion, the lighting and composition, this is hands down the most amazing wedding video I’ve seen. The fact that it’s a friend’s wedding day makes it even more special!

More photos to come next week, photographed by the insanely talented crew at Blumenthal. Stay tuned!

I believe in magic: Jen & Jeff

When a long time friend of mine from Ohio, introduced me to her boyfriend (at the time) I knew they were perfect for each other. Alike in many ways, but very different in other ways, like Yin & Yang completing their circle. They truly are the definition of true love. When Jen told me Jeff had proposed, I was over the moon – I knew Jeff was going to spend the rest of his life trying to make Jen happy. What more could you ask?

Angela & Rick: 28 January 2012

Bride arriving at reception

Ange is technically my sister-in-law, being the sister of my brother’s wife Sonya. She’s always been like family, from the moment we met. Ange and I have gone through pretty similar life stages together, and our beau’s have uncanny similarities at times! To be invited to celebrate Rick & Ange’s special day with them was such an honour, and such fun!
